Over the course of years, two distinct schools of thought have arisen for trading futures, fundamental and technical.
The technician believes all statistical, fundamental, and inside information, is already in the market, and therefore in the technical analysis. He believes the principle of technical analysis is more predictable and safer for the average investor than any of the other presently recognized and established approach. The fundamentalist believes all market moves are driven by basic changes within the industry or world conditions.
A possible symmetry might be 80% technical and 20% fundamental.
The true fundamentals, that really drive the futures market, are not found in trade journals or the 6 o'clock news. They are reoccurring, and must be garnered from experience, and read between the lines of world news events. As they become public knowledge, they foretell the end is near, in either direction !!
This is a zero sum business.
